Seon Ashram joyfully celebrated Gandhi Jayanti and Senior Citizens Day together, honoring both the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, and the invaluable contributions of senior citizens in our community. The event commenced with a heartfelt tribute to the statue of Mahatma Gandhi, symbolizing our respect and admiration for his ideals.
Dr. U.C. Paulose, Managing Trustee of Seon Ashram, presided over the event and reflected on Gandhiji’s life, describing him as a pioneer of peace, non-violence, and truth. Dr. U C Paulose urged everyone to embody the principles and teachings of Gandhiji in their own lives. He further emphasized the significance of Senior Citizens Day, explaining that Seon Ashram has always valued the wisdom of the elderly, and believes that respecting elders and fostering peace make life truly meaningful. At Seon Ashram, all are treated equally, regardless of caste or creed.
As part of the celebration, three senior citizens from different religious backgrounds were recognized and honored, reflecting the Ashram’s commitment to unity and inclusivity. This year’s honorees were:
1. Mr. Padmanabha Saliyan from Kodiyelu Basavanagudi, Maladi Village
2. Ms. Felicitas Moris from Kalkanibailu, Malanthabettu Village
3. Mr. Hasanabba, Golikatte, Charmady
